In accordance with the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 29, 2019, "On Improving the Activities of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Amending Decree No. 479 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 17, 2019, 'On Additional Measures to Optimize the Structure and Improve the Governance of Several State Bodies in the Republic of Azerbaijan,'" the Accreditation and Nostrification Department of the Ministry of Education was reorganized through transformation into the Education Quality Assurance Agency (the Agency), a public legal entity under the Ministry of Education.

The Agency is a professional and specialized body in the field of independent assessment of the quality of higher, secondary specialized, and supplementary education, based on standards recognized in Azerbaijan and internationally. The Agency ensures the determination of quality levels for educational programs and the fulfillment of related requirements.

In exercising its duties and rights, the Agency operates in coordination with state bodies (institutions) and municipalities, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as other legal entities and physical persons. The Charter of the Agency was approved pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 29, 2019.

Our Areas of Activity:

• Conducting the accreditation of educational institutions

• Implementing the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications

• Conducting the assessment and recognition of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience acquired through non-formal and informal forms of vocational education

• Developing recommendations and organizing training sessions for conducting the accreditation of educational institutions

• Organizing consultancy and methodological support services for the establishment and advancement of internal quality assurance systems within educational institutions

• Promoting the continuous development of the education system and state educational standards, while enhancing the reputation of educational institutions and the quality of specialist training

• Participating in the provision of expert opinions for the purpose of licensing educational activities

• Studying and implementing advanced international practices in the relevant field
