Accreditation of an educational institution is carried out in order to check the adequacy of the educational institution's activities in accordance with the requirements of the state educational standards and other normative legal acts and provides legal guarantees for determination of the status of the educational institution, the number of students for each field of study (program) and its extension.

Accreditation of educational institutions is carried out every 5 years and consists of the following stages:

  1. preparation for implementation of accreditation;
  2. self-evaluation of educational institution;
  3. evaluation by Accreditation Committee;
  4. preparation of final report on accreditation;
  5. determination of the status of an educational institution, and issue of quality assurance document (certificate).

The activities of an educational institution that is registered, licensed and accredited as a legal entity in the Republic of Azerbaijan are legally assured.
